Eat Drink Man Woman

When we arrived in Thailand we rented the scooter and we’ve not really made much use of it going round the local area so the other day we decided to go in a little bit of an exploration to areas we’ve not been before and we discovered a very expensive bar where everybody goes to watch the sunset although we didn’t stay for the mayhem while people watch the sun go down. Maybe we will go back one day for the sunset for the beer is horrendously priced.

Me posing on my ride although we have gone and  bought some significantly better helmets than the ones provided by the rental company.

The bar in “sunset bar” officially known as the three mermaids is laid out with a pool in the middle and all sorts of different types of seats including nets hanging over the ocean. There’s a picture below of Julie demonstrating the nests which you can sit in to watch the sunset.

Another Bar … Just one…maybe two…

Jelly had to tell me what this was as there was a huge queue outside. It’s a pop-up store in the middle of the mall selling toys based around this character but I have no idea what it is but everybody was seemingly buying this new version of the character in a big box. Everybody walking around the mall had one so they must have made an absolute fortune.

Maybe somebody could tell me in the comments what the hell this is all about?

We decided to go to Sushi Train one day as we decided that we could afford to eat out a little bit more than we were otherwise doing so we decided to try all sorts of local restaurants.

Fatty Salmon Belly

We were watching some Instagram reels and we discovered this guy that only reviews breakfasts. In one of the videos he said there was really good place in the area. This was in a place called Nikki’s so we decided to give it a try. We’ve been back a few times. I’ve tried both that 99 Baht ( £2.24 ) breakfast and the mega breakfast. Both of which come with English tea included. The bubble and squeak on the mega breakfast was fantastic.

We also tried one of the daily specials with salmon with potatoes and parsnips and asparagus. The parsnips, which are not my favorite were ok but very well done which is probably why I thought they were ok. Normally I don’t like them.

Not so fatty Salmon

We’ve no idea what the cooking technique below is called as the shop is just called barbecue plaza but you got for a fixed price a few trays of different types of meat and unlimited vegetables which you cook in the stock that you put around the edge as you grill the meat on the middle part. It’s quite good value as it’s one fixed price for the trays on meat and you split this between the people on your table in our case this was two but you could probably split it between four.

The Aftermath. I’m not washing up.

One day we had fish and chips from a place called Sharples. It was okay but a little expensive really for what it was.
