After assitance from Margaret we are in a campsite in Petoria. Its not under water at the moment.....
No power in the toilets and only one block has hot water but its cheap enough. Not far from the parts place either so ideal.
We've made contact with a local Land Rover fan whos also a freind of Margaret and Mike. Hopefully we will be meeting up on Sunday. The F1 is too late to watch in the pub but lunch is on the cards. We shall follow F1 on the laptop.
I needed some help with the Fuel Pump so assisted by a local got it changed in
super quick time. It was a problem keeping stuff clean as the feathers get
For all those that used the contact form to contact us i must apologise. The Email wasn't sent to us so i didn't know you sent me a message. I have now g
New fuel pump fitted.....
leaking from the top ring where the "hat" meets the main body. Fuel all under the car running down onto the sump and bell housing. At least the fuel pump i donated to the Dutch travellers in Syria was replaced by them in Jordan so we had the spare ready and waiting in the spares box.
I also made the SILLY (monumentally SILLY) mistake of using a wratchet to turn the crank pully (distonnected the fuel stop wire thankfully) to turn the cam to the correct place to fit the pump. Upon starting i forgot the wratchet....Spinning round undoing the crank pully bolt but luckily the car didn't start as i'd also forgot the wire for the stop solenoid. So no damage done but it could have been VERY BAD !!!!
did you know you can feed your Webasto into your Awning with sides attached and get it to a balmy +20C. The enviromental issues aside.
The photo is the Lion was taken in the campsite.....it came and sat in my lap.
A few photos of Julie and the newly discovered facebook "at arms length" self portraits. They are already becoming old as we've done it 50 times already.
These are all from Blyde Canyon.
Matilda is clunking....the rear prop needs an new UJ on the rear and the sliding joint is slightly loose. So i think i need to get a new rear propshaft. Anyone know a good parts supplier in SA ? I have the spare UJ but the slider is terminal i think? I've greased them all about 50 times on this trip and with some damn good grease so its just one of those things i suppose.
Cut the hair today again. Its quite a while since i did it. Last time was at Eileens Trees inn in Tanzania. Thats about where Julie is up to in her diary....
You're not meant to get out the car in Kruger. So this photo wasn't taken in Kruger. Seriously there are a few spots where you can and this is one of them.
Dash wanted to see some Cats but even his keen eye didn't spot any. The best view in the car and nothing.
Today we've seen elusive Jacksquat. This is pretty unusual for South Africa's as its only the English people that see Jacksquat.
3 out of 5 still........
